Mr. M’s Jazz Club 2016
Kurhaus Baden-Baden

March 17-19, 2016

The event series “Mr. M’s Jazz Club” has been around since 2008. The atmosphere in the Kurhaus, which transforms the festival into a true “Jazz Temple,” is unique in Europe and attracts the big names of jazz to Baden-Baden. Once again, the Team Christian von Kaphengst and Marc Marshall succeeded in 2016 in producing a sensational program for this year’s festival with performers such as Nils Landgren, Rolf and Joachim Kühn as well as the duo Dauner/Dauner. Let us not forget the star of the festival: Mr. M’s All-Star Band under the direction of Frank Lauber, an assemble that has grown over the years and developed their very own sound.

Artistic Treats in
Baden-Baden Museums

There are special spring exhibits in the museums of Baden-Baden. The Frieder Burda Museum displays can be viewed through May 29. This includes “Gerhard Richter, Birkenau,” the abstract works of the German artist.

From the Frieder Burda Museum, you walk via a glass bridge to the Staatliche Kunsthall Baden-Baden, where from March 5 - June 19, 2016 you can visit the big State exhibit “Money, Good and Evil” in co-operation with the Casino, Theatre and the Stadt Museum Baden-Baden. This is a picture story over the 750 years under the thesis “Money is not a-historic” over 750 years.

The Museum LA8 has the exhibit “Andrea Achenbach Revolutionary and Malerfürst” from March 19 - August 28, 2016. The Farbergé Museum displays over 700 pieces of the artistic works of Carl Farbergé, and the Stadtmuseum invites the visitor to a historic journey of Baden-Baden.

March – May 2016

Dear Travel Professional,

Soon the very first rays of spring will arrive and a huge colorful carpet with thousands of crocuses and daffodils will cover our parks and gardens of Lichtentaler Allee. It is a wonderful time for a romantic ride in a horse-drawn carriage or a leisurely walk along our Art and Cultural Mile.

I especially recommend the two exhibitions “Gerhard Richter, Birkenau” at the Museum Frieder Burda and the big State exhibit “Money, Good and Evil” at the Staatliche Kunsthalle in co-operation with the Casino Baden-Baden, the Theatre and the Stadtmuseum. A very special highlight will be the Easter Festival with the Berlin Philharmonic under the direction of Sir Simon Rattle on March 19-28 at the Festspielhaus. The festival will open with the very first performance of the new production of Wagner’s “Tristan und Isolde.”

It is an excellent time for a Rhine River Cruise passenger or any other Europe-bound traveler to take advantage of the packages offered by some of our U.S. tour operators, which you will find at the end of this newsletter.

I look forward to your visit and remain with best wishes,

Brigitte Goertz-Meissner
CEO and President
